Dr Shaohui Zhang is a Partner – Avocat à la Cour, Médiateur Agréé, and co-founder of EURAALEX Law Firm.
Shaohui has 20 years of experience as a corporate lawyer admitted to the Luxembourg Bar and focuses on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), foreign direct investments (FDI), and initial public offerings (IPO). He assists Asian (mainly from mainland China, but also from South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore) listed and/or state-owned companies investing into Luxembourg or using Luxembourg as an entry point into the EU single market.
Before founding EURAALEX, Dr. Shaohui Zhang was partner at several international law firms and was the Head of Europe-China Collaboration Group of a large international law firm. He assisted clients from multiple jurisdictions in cross-border transactions and foreign direct investment in Luxembourg.
In particular, he has assisted leading Asian financial, industrial, and institutional entities in their investments in Luxembourg or in the EU, with support in structuring the transaction, conducting due diligence, setting-up joint ventures and/or special purpose vehicles (also in different jurisdictions) and drafting the relevant bundle of contracts.
Shaohui has extensive experience in leading major M&A transactions, cross-border acquisitions, take-overs, buy-outs or mergers, acting for both the seller and the buyer, ranging from start-ups and medium-sized companies to state-owned enterprises and multinational corporations, across various industries, such as automotive, pharmaceutical, clean energy and recycling etc.
Shaohui lectures Chinese Business Laws at the University of Luxembourg since 2015 and has been appointed invited professor by various universities in China since 2008.
Since 2023 Shaohui has been a certified mediator by the Ministry of Justice of Luxembourg and provides civil and commercial mediation to Chinese investors in their disputes resulting from their investment in the EU.

- Chambers Global Guide 2023. Dentons advises WELLE on acquisition of EuRe. Dentons advised WELLE on the acquisition of EuRec in Germany and on the restructuring of its management team. Through this deal, WELLE’s subsidiary in Luxembourg, which was the majority shareholder, will acquire 100% of the shares and gain full control of EuRec.
